Healthy American Pancakes
At the weekend, I often take a little more time for breakfast. For me, it’s really just part of a restful and relaxed weekend. And of course, delicious pancakes can’t be missing! I already liked to eat them when I was a child. After spending some time in the USA, I love them even more.
However, they can be quite ‘heavy’ in the stomach and are often made with a lot of sugar & Co. For this reason, I tried to create a healthier version of the classic pancakes. It’s just as quick to prepare and the ingredients can be easily substituted if needed.
I’ll show you how I like to prepare my pancakes in this blog post!
American Pancakes for Breakfast
My favorite way to eat pancakes is actually on a leisurely Sunday morning. I often top them with some fruits I still have at home (e.g. bananas, grapes, berries) or add some honey, homemade jam, healthy chocolate cream or similar over the pancakes.
How To Prepare the Healthy American Pancakes
First, mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl (flour, date sweetener, baking powder and salt).
Then beat the egg in a separate cup and add it to the dry ingredients. Also add in the vegetable milk and mix everything well.
Add a little oil to a skillet and heat the skillet over medium heat until hot.
I used about two tablespoons of batter per pancake. Bake the pancakes over medium heat until golden brown on each side. The batter will yield about five pancakes.
Enjoy your meal!
