Cookies
Our Internet pages use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files and do not cause any damage on your end device. They are either temporarily stored on your device for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or until they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
In some cases, cookies from third-party companies may also be stored on your terminal device when you enter our site (third-party cookies). These enable us or you to use certain services of the third-party company (e.g. cookies for the processing of payment services).
Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping basket function or the display of videos). Other cookies are used to evaluate user behavior or display advertising.
Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process (necessary cookies) or to provide certain functions that you have requested (functional cookies, e.g. for the shopping basket function) or to optimize the website (e.g. cookies for measuring the web audience) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO, unless another legal basis is given. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of his services. If consent to the storage of cookies has been requested, the storage of the cookies in question will be carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO); the consent can be revoked at any time.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for specific cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Insofar as cookies are used by third-party companies or for analysis purposes, we will inform you separately about this within the framework of this data protection declaration and, if necessary, request your consent.
You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de
Contact Form
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact data you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO, if your inquiry is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO) or on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO), provided that the inquiry was made.
The data entered by you in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to its storage or the purpose for which it was stored ceases to apply (e.g. after your inquiry has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Inquiry by Email, Telephone or Fax
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your inquiry including all personal data (name, inquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request.
The data sent to us by you via contact inquiries will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to its storage or the purpose for which it was stored no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular legal retention periods – remain unaffected.
Comment Function on This Website
For the comment function on this page, in addition to your comment, information about the time of the comment’s creation, your e-mail address and, if you are not posting anonymously, the user name you have chosen are stored.
Storage of the IP Address
Our comment function stores the IP addresses of users who post comments. Since we do not check comments on this website before they are activated, we need this data to be able to take action against the author in case of legal violations such as insults or propaganda.
Subscribe to Comments
As a user of the site, you can subscribe to comments after logging in. You will receive a confirmation email to verify that you are the owner of the email address you entered. You can unsubscribe from this function at any time via a link in the info mails. In this case, the data entered when subscribing to comments will be deleted; however, if you have submitted this data for other purposes and elsewhere (e.g. newsletter order), this data will remain with us.
Storage Period of Comments
The comments and the associated data (e.g. IP address) are stored and remain on this website until the commented content is completely deleted or the comments must be deleted for legal reasons (e.g. insulting comments).
Legal Basis
The storage of comments is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke any consent you have given at any time. For this purpose, an informal notification by e-mail to us is sufficient. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
5. Newsletter
Newsletter Data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we need an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data will not be collected or only on a voluntary basis. We use these data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass them on to third parties.
The processing of the data entered in the newsletter registration form is based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address as well as its use for sending the newsletter at any time, e.g. via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you have provided us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you have cancelled your subscription. Data that has been stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected.
After you have been removed from the newsletter distribution list, your e-mail address may be stored in a blacklist by us or the newsletter service provider to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist will only be used for this purpose and will not be merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in compliance with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest in the sense of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO). The storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
6. Plugins and Tools
Google Web Fonts
This site uses so-called web fonts, which are provided by Google, for the uniform display of fonts. The Google Fonts are installed locally. There is no connection to Google servers.
Further information about Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in the Google privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter “reCAPTCHA”) on this website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The purpose of reCAPTCHA is to check whether the data input on this website (e.g. in a contact form) is done by a human being or by an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For analysis purposes, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, time spent on the website or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.
The reCAPTCHA analyses run completely in the background. Website visitors are not notified that an analysis is taking place.
The storage and analysis of the data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting his web offers from abusive automated spying and from SPAM. If the appropriate consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO; the consent can be revoked at any time.
Further information on Google reCAPTCHA can be found in the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Terms of Use under the following links: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de and https://policies.google.com/terms?hl=de.
Privacy Policy for the Use and Application of Google Analytics (With Anonymization Function)
The person responsible for processing has integrated the Google Analytics component (with anonymization function) on this website. Google Analytics is a web analysis service. Web analysis is the collection, collection and evaluation of data on the behavior of visitors to websites. Among other things, a web analysis service collects data about which website a person concerned came to a website from (so-called referrers), which sub-pages of the website were accessed or how often and for how long a subpage was viewed. A web analysis is mainly used to optimize a website and for cost-benefit analysis of internet advertising.
The operating company of the Google Analytics component is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA.
The data controller uses the “anonymizeIP” function for web analysis via Google Analytics. By means of this function, the IP address of the Internet connection of the person concerned is shortened and anonymized by Google if the access to our Internet pages is from a member state of the European Union or from another state that is a signatory to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
The purpose of the Google Analytics component is to analyze the flow of visitors to our website. Google uses the data and information obtained to evaluate the use of our website, among other things, to compile online reports for us which show the activities on our website and to provide further services in connection with the use of our website.
Google Analytics sets a cookie on the information technology system of the person concerned. What cookies are has already been explained above. By setting the cookie, Google is able to analyze the use of our website. Each time one of the individual pages of this website, which is operated by the person responsible for processing and on which a Google Analytics component has been integrated, is called up, the Internet browser on the information technology system of the person concerned is automatically prompted by the respective Google Analytics component to transmit data to Google for the purpose of online analysis. In the course of this technical process, Google receives knowledge of personal data, such as the IP address of the person concerned, which Google uses, among other things, to trace the origin of visitors and clicks and subsequently to enable commission settlements.
By means of the cookie, personal information such as the access time, the location from which an access originated and the frequency of visits to our website by the person concerned is stored. Each time our website is visited, this personal data, including the IP address of the Internet connection used by the person concerned, is transmitted to Google in the United States of America. This personal data is stored by Google in the United States of America. Google may pass on this personal data collected via the technical process to third parties.
The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a DSGVO.
The personal data will be transferred to the USA under the EU-US Privacy Shield on the basis of the adequacy decision of the European Commission. You can download the certificate here.
The data sent by us and linked to cookies, user IDs (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs are automatically deleted after 14 months. Data whose retention period has been reached is automatically deleted once a month.
The person concerned can prevent the setting of cookies by our website, as already described above, at any time by means of a corresponding setting in the Internet browser used and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Such a setting of the Internet browser used would also prevent Google from setting a cookie on the information technology system of the person concerned. In addition, a cookie already set by Google Analytics can be deleted at any time via the Internet browser or other software programs.
Furthermore, the data subject has the opportunity to object to and prevent the collection of data generated by Google Analytics and relating to the use of this website and the processing of this data by Google. For this purpose, the person concerned must download and install a browser add-on under the link https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This browser add-on informs Google Analytics via JavaScript that no data and information about visits to websites may be transmitted to Google Analytics. The installation of the browser add-on is considered by Google as a contradiction. If the data subject’s information technology system is deleted, formatted or reinstalled at a later date, the data subject must reinstall the browser add-on in order to deactivate Google Analytics. If the browser add-on is uninstalled or deactivated by the data subject or another person within his or her sphere of control, it is possible to reinstall or reactivate the browser add-on.
You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by setting the following slider to “Off”.
Additional information and Google’s applicable privacy policy can be found at this URL and this URL. Google Analytics is explained in more detail at this link.
Conclusion of a Contract on Order Processing
In order to guarantee data protection compliant processing, we have concluded a contract for order processing with Google.
Borlabs Cookie
This website uses Borlabs cookie, which sets a technically necessary cookie (borlabs cookie) to store your cookie consent.
Borlabs cookie does not process any personal data.
The borlabs-cookie stores your consent that you gave when you entered the website. If you wish to revoke these consents, simply delete the cookie in your browser. When you re-enter/reload the website, you will be asked again for your cookie consent.
Social Media Plugin
This website uses Easy Social Share Buttons as social media plugin.
All share buttons, follower counter buttons, social profile buttons and subscription forms are statically generated locally on the website with simple code. Easy Social Share Buttons does not collect or store any user information.
Functions to Share
The plugin generates static share buttons on the website. These buttons do not require a connection to a Social API to be executed, and they do not collect or send information to the social network.
We have included the social media buttons of the following companies on our website:
- Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Ave – Palo Alto – CA 94304 – USA)
- Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway – Mountain View – CA 94043 – USA)
MailChimp
This website uses the services of MailChimp for sending newsletters. Provider is the Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
MailChimp is a service that can be used to organize and analyze the sending of newsletters. If you enter data for the purpose of receiving newsletters (e.g. e-mail address), this data is stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA.
MailChimp is certified according to the “EU-US-Privacy-Shield”. The “Privacy-Shield” is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA, which is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards in the USA.
With the help of MailChimp we can analyze our newsletter campaigns. When you open an e-mail sent with MailChimp, a file contained in the e-mail (so-called web-beacon) connects to the servers of MailChimp in the USA. This way it can be determined whether a newsletter message was opened and which links were clicked on, if any. Furthermore, technical information is collected (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient. It is used exclusively for statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.
If you do not want to receive analysis by MailChimp, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose we provide a link in every newsletter message. You can also unsubscribe directly on the website.
The data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data that you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from our servers as well as from the servers of MailChimp after the cancellation of the newsletter. Data which is stored for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remains unaffected.
You can find more details in the privacy policy of MailChimp at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.
Conclusion of a Data Processing Agreement
We have a so-called “data processing agreement” with MailChimp, in which we commit MailChimp to protect the data of our customers and not to pass them on to third parties. This agreement can be viewed under the following link: View contract.
Cookies and reports on access figures
We use “session cookies” from VG Wort, Munich, to measure access to texts in order to record the probability of copying. Session cookies are small units of information that a provider stores in the RAM of the visitor’s computer. A randomly generated unique identification number, a so-called session ID, is stored in a session cookie. In addition, a cookie contains information about its origin and the storage period. Session cookies cannot store any other data. These measurements are carried out by Kantar Germany GmbH using the Scalable Central Measurement Method (SZM). They help to determine the copy probability of individual texts for the remuneration of legal claims of authors and publishers. We do not collect any personal data via cookies.
Many of our pages are provided with JavaScript calls, through which we report the accesses to the Verwertungsgesellschaft Wort (VG Wort). We thus enable our authors to participate in the distributions of the VG Wort, which ensure the statutory remuneration for the uses of copyrighted works in accordance with § 53 UrhG.
It is also possible to use our offers without cookies. Most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. However, you can deactivate the storage of cookies or set your browser to notify you as soon as cookies are sent.
Privacy policy on the use of the Scalable Central Measurement System.
Our website and our mobile website use the “Scalable Central Measurement Method” (SZM) of Kantar Germany GmbH to determine statistical parameters for determining the copy probability of texts.
Anonymous measurement values are collected in the process. The access count measurement alternatively uses a session cookie or a signature, which is created from various automatically transmitted information of your browser, for the recognition of computer systems. IP addresses are only processed in anonymized form.
The procedure was developed in compliance with data protection. The sole aim of the procedure is to determine the copying probability of individual texts.
At no time are individual users identified. Your identity always remains protected. You will not receive any advertising via the system.
