Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bars
Delicious, healthy oatmeal chocolate chip bars – very simple!
These healthy bars are quick to prepare, taste super chocolaty, are fluffy and a perfect sweet snack. They are also gluten-free and contain no refined sugar or lactose. You can already start preheating the oven, because these bars are just heavenly!
How To Prepare Oat Chocolate Chip Bars Yourself – Step By Step Instructions
- If you don’t have ground oats, grind them in a blender first. Preheat the oven to ~390°F (200°C).
- Then mix the dry ingredients in a bowl (rolled oats, date sweetener, salt and baking powder).
- Then follow the remaining liquid ingredients (margarine, vegetable milk, vanilla extract, egg). Leave out the dark chocolate for the time being.
- Now mix all the ingredients together, preferably with a hand mixer or in a blender.
- Chop the chocolate and fold into the batter.
- Grease a small baking dish (mine measured: 7.5″ x 9.8″ (19 x 25 cm)) with coconut oil and pour in the dough.
- Add a few more chocolate chips over the top of the dough if you like, and pop it in the oven.
- Bake in the oven for about 15–20 minutes. When nothing sticks to the fork, they are ready!

The oatmeal chocolate chip bars are
Replaceable Ingredients
Oatmeal: While oatmeal is naturally gluten-free, it may have come in contact with gluten in some cases. So if you have a gluten intolerance, feel free to use verified gluten-free rolled oats for the recipe.
Margarine: You could also replace margarine with coconut oil if you like the taste of coconut!
Date sweetener: Of course you can also use the sugar alternatives that you just have at home, such as coconut blossom sugar. However, I am currently on date sweetener totally stuck!
Egg: If you omit the egg and replace it for example with a flaxseed egg, then the bars are also vegan!
How Long Do the Bars Last?
If you like to prepare them, they will keep at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Of course, you can also put them in the refrigerator, where they will keep a little longer!
