Granola With Dried Fruits

Granola With Dried Fruits

Granola has probably experienced a real boom in recent years and is always in demand, especially the homemade version. And rightly so, in my opinion, because it is not only easy to prepare, but also perfect when time is short in the morning to prepare breakfast. Plus, granola can be made in a whole variety of ways!

What Is Granola Anyway?

The base of every granola is made of grain, for example oats. Nuts and seeds provide a certain crunch and ensure healthy, unsaturated fatty acids and plant protein.

Of course, a little oil and sweetness should not be missing either. This gives the granola in the oven its crispy consistency. A clear advantage to bought granola in grocery stores is that it contains less sugar and one knows exactly, what is in it.

The Preparation of Granola With Dried Fruits Is Very Simple

Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C).

Chop the nuts coarsely. Mix all dry ingredients (oats, nuts, pumpkin seeds, coconut chips, ground flax seeds, dates, dried cranberries and pineapple) in a bowl.

Add some salt and cinnamon.

Now heat the coconut oil together with the sweetener, for example maple syrup (I heated it in the microwave) until it is fluid.

Pour the mixture over the dry ingredients and mix everything well.

Now put everything on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Spread it out until the whole baking tray is covered!

Bake in the oven for about 20 to 30 minutes. After about 15 minutes, mix everything again well so that it gets golden brown.

In the second half of the baking time, you should keep a close eye on the granola, because it can burn very quickly, especially if you have also used dried fruit.

When everything looks crispy brown, take it out of the oven and let it cool down. Then put it into an airtight container. Done!

Have fun trying it out. I would be happy about a comment if you liked the recipe or if you have tried it already!
