Filled Chocolate Medjool Dates

Looking for a small delicious sweet snack for in between? These Medjool dates are filled with almond paste and coated in chocolate and are the perfect alternative to sweets. I’m a total fan of dates because they taste like a little dessert and are healthy too.

The recipe is extremely simple and can be prepared in 5 minutes. In addition, you only need 5 ingredients, which you can also vary very well at the same time.

For example, the almond paste can be easily replaced with peanut butter or any other paste. Just as the chopped almonds and if you are not a fan of chocolate, you can of course simply omit them. The dried dates are also very sweet all by themselves!

What Are Medjool Dates?

Medjool dates are the best choice for preparing this snack. These are slightly larger and firmer than the regular dates you often find on supermarket shelves.

In addition, the flesh of Medjool dates is slightly thicker and they taste more like caramel. Meanwhile, they have also finally arrived in supermarkets, but unfortunately not yet as strongly represented as the conventional dates. So, keep your eyes open when shopping next time!

How Do I Prepare the Filled Chocolate Medjool Dates?

Cut the dates open in the middle – but don’t cut them completely in half! If necessary, remove the stone from the dates.

Add almond paste (or other desired paste) to the center of each date and gently press together.

Heat the chocolate together with a little coconut oil (to make it smoother) in the microwave and pour this over the dates.

Finally, sprinkle a few chopped almonds over the dates. Now let dry in the fridge for an hour.

  • 0.7 oz. dark chocolate 20 g
  • 0.35 oz. coconut oil 10 g
  • almond paste
  • chopped almonds

Instructions
