Wash the red cabbage, cut off the stalk and chop the red cabbage. Put the chopped red cabbage in a large saucepan.
First peel the apples, then core them and then cut them into rough pieces. Then add the apples to the red cabbage.
Peel and finely chop one large onion. Also add it to the saucepan.
Now add 2 tablespoons of vinegar, for example apple cider vinegar. Then add the sweetener, I used 5 tsp agave syrup here.
Now add about 8.5-10.1 fl. oz. (250-300 ml) water, so that the bottom is covered with water. Season with salt & pepper and cook on medium heat until done. Stir occasionally.
For me it took about 40 minutes until everything was cooked. After that you can enjoy your red cabbage with apples!
