First put the liquid ingredients in a bowl: the melted margarine, the apple sauce, the cidar vinegar, the vanilla soy milk, the agave syrup and the vanilla flavoring. Stir the ingredients well.
Then add the dry ingredients: the spelt flour, the baking powder and the salt. Blend these to a dough. Cocoa powder and the plant drink are initially left out to create the special pattern of the cake later.
Coat the loaf pan with coconut oil. Pour three quarters of the dough into the loaf pan.
Mix the remaining dough in the bowl with the cocoa powder and the plant drink (e.g. oat milk) and spread it on the dough in the loaf pan. Use a fork to work the dark dough into the light dough in a spiral shape.
Now bake the cake in the oven for about 50 minutes. If the cake does not leave any remains when pierced with a fork or a skewer, you can take it out.
As toppings I put melted dark chocolate and chopped hazelnuts over the finished cake. This is of course only optional! You could also put a delicious chocolate icing over the cake.
